FAQs

Secure Payments

Are my card details safe?

Yes. We use PayPal for all payments, which means we never see any of your card details.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is a third party payment system. When the buyer pays though PayPal, the money is ‘held’ in the seller’s account until he withdraws it or pays buys something from another seller who uses PayPal, when the money is transferred between accounts. Neither the buyer nor seller ever knows the other’s card or bank details. Payments are insured against fraudulent activity.

PayPal is the preferred method of payment of eBay, who acquired them for $1.5 billion in 2002.

What if I don’t want to be a member of PayPal?

You do not need to join PayPal to use them. At the end of Checkout you will be directed to the PayPal site. On the right hand side there are login details for members. On the left hand side there is a ‘guest login’ area where you can securely pay by card but none of your details are kept by anyone.

The main advantage of being a member is that you don’t have to enter your card details each time you purchase something. Guest logins are useful if you do not make many purchases online and so entering your details each time is not a great inconvenience. Both ways are safe.

Do I have to pay extra for using PayPal?

No. PayPal charges for receiving money and not sending it, so any fees are payable by the seller only.
